Join Our Sustainable Sewing Workshop
every Friday morning from 1000-1200
Starting 6th November
at Holy Cross Anglican Church, Palermo
Are you passionate about reducing fashion waste and giving your clothes a second life?
Led by Ella Barker a trained and experienced fashion designer, this hands-on workshop will teach you practical skills in repairing, recycling, and reusing clothing – helping you create less waste and care for our planet. Fast fashion contributes heavily to environmental pollution. Together, we can make a positive change, one garment at a time. Please bring your item(s) to work on. We will work together in a relaxed atmosphere, and at the end of the session we can chat over a tea or coffee.
Limited places available. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guidato da Ella Barker, stilista di moda qualificata ed esperta, questo workshop pratico ti insegnerà tecniche di riparazione, riciclo e riutilizzo degli abiti, aiutandoti a produrre meno rifiuti e a prenderti cura del nostro pianeta. La fast fashion contribuisce in modo significativo all’inquinamento ambientale. Insieme, possiamo fare la differenza, un capo alla volta. Porta con te i tuoi capi da riparare. Lavoreremo insieme in un’atmosfera rilassata e, al termine della sessione, potremo chiacchierare davanti a un tè o un caffè.

On the 26th March Laura Leto presented Il cimitero acattolica “degli inglesi” a Palermo.
Her book was the result of several years of research into what Palermitans refer to as the English cemetery.
Whereas, if only it were possible to stroll through instead of being met by a bolted gate beyond which is a place of abandon and desecration, you would find the names of people from far off countries who were laid to rest in what was once a beautiful and peaceful garden over looking the sea.
Laura wants to draw attention to this site of historical interest in the hope of it being eventually restored.
